A multi-year collaboration with the Polish Standardization Committee plays an important role in the KOMAG activities. Basing on the agreement with PSC, two Secretariats of Technical Committees are conducted at KOMAG:

TC No. 164 for Safety in the Mining Industry,
TC No. 285 for Underground Mining Machines and Equipment

which enable to implement European standards, develop Polish standards and create new standardization requirements. So far over120 Polish standards have been developed at KOMAG.

Scientific and Technical Information

Research and development character of KOMAG activity is connected with a need of knowledge and information management in the range of the following activities:

current observation of novelties and changes presented in scientific magazines, standards as well as Polish and European regulations,
processing of this information for data bases and for Polish publications or internal documents,
transfer of gained and processed data in a form of trainings.

Each year KOMAG employees publish tens of articles in Polish and foreign magazines as well as in conference proceedings, presenting KOMAG achievements and their own scientific output. Information about mining mechanization development trends, novel design technologies and innovative technological solutions is published in:

bibliographic monthly “Novelties in World Mining Literature”,
scientific and technical quarterly “Maszyny Górnicze (Mining Machines)”,
series of publications “KOMAG Scientific Projects-Monographs”,
series of publications “Innovative MechanizationTechnologies”.

Realizing, among others, informative and educational activity, KOMAG enables small and medium-sized enterprises to use its bibliographic materials and it also distributes information on quality, standardization as well as some data of scientific and technical character. In the case of innovative solutions it is very important to protect intellectual and industrial property rights. Projects of innovative character are currently submitted for a protection both in Poland and abroad. The activities, connected with a protection of intellectual property rights, are carried out to meet KOMAG own needs and also the needs of our partners.
