Applied Tests

The Laboratory of Applied Tests is equipped with the following measuring rigs:
  • rig for testing operational parameters of electric drives and their control systems (up to 223 kW),
  • rig for testing power hydraulics and pneumatic systems,
  • rig for testing a full scope of the IP protection, consisting of:
- subatmospheric pressure dust chamber for testing dust tightness of machines and equipment,
- water rig for equipment spraying and immersing,
  • two climatic chambers (temperature range: from -70°C to 180°C; relative humidity range: from 10% to 98%),
  • equipment for measuring the size of liquid drops.
The Laboratory takes the measurements of:
  • mechanical parameters (forces, velocities, displacements, torques),
  • pressures and flows in hydraulic and pneumatic media,
  • dynamic phenomena (e.g. time of equipment actuation and reaction),
  • mechanical vibrations of machines and equipment (acceptance, inspection and at work-places),
  • acoustic parameters of machines and equipment (in the Laboratory and at work-places),
  • environmental measurements, measurements of traffic noise,
  • electric parameters of machines and equipment and of power networks,
  • temperatures using contact method,
  • within the scope of the 94/9/EC ATEX and 73/23/EC "Low Voltage” Directives,
  • intrinsic safety,
  • electrization,
  • surface resistance, volume resistance and resistance between points,
  • insulation resistance,
  • insulation electric strength,
  • traffic intensity.

Measurements are taken in the parallel, multi-channel mode, sing top class, calibrated and approved measurement apparati. Tests are carried out by a team of experienced specialists according to the PN-EN ISO 9001 and PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 Quality Systems. Tests are performed in the Laboratory at KOMAG, at producers', at users' or in the area where an ecological impact is to be tested. They are oriented ontochecking a product conformity with the required technical standards or a determination of permissible parameters.Checking and diagnostic activities, aiming at detecting causes of failures and monitoring of equipment technical condition, are offered as well. Basing on the obtained results of measurements and tests, KOMAG offers technical solutions enabling to upgrade mechanical and mechatronic systems as well as machines and equipment to reach the technical condition meeting the requirements of standards and regulations.

The Accreditation of the Polish Centre for Accreditation No. AB 665, granted to the Laboratory of Applied Tests, includes as follows:
  • acoustic parameters of machines and equipment,
  • traffic noise,
  • mechanical vibrations of machines and equipment, vibrations of buildings,
  • illumination density,
  • surface temperatures and flow media.
and within the ATEX and "Low Voltage" Directives:
  • tests of intrinsic safety,
  • tests of IP protection,
  • tests in the climatic chamber,
  • measurements of temperatures at rated current,
  • measurements of insulation resistance,
  • measurements of electrization,
  • measurements of insulation electric strength,
  • checking resistance to mechanical impacts and to free falls,
  • measurements of geometric parameters,
  • tests of rubber hardness and of resistance of plastics to chemical substances.
