Impact of vortex pump on the shape of field of stream velocity in a sucking hose
MIKOŚ M., KALUKIEWICZ A., WOJCIECHOWSKI J.
Summary
Research project is a result of initial studies carried out on possibilities of using an additional vortex in sucked stream of liquid as the factor, which shapes the stream flowing to centrifugal pump interior. Relationships between the shapes of sucked stream velocity fields and pump output were determined experimentally. Obtained information can be a starting point for a development new energy saving solution to control the output of vortex pump. Problem of increase of efficiency of dewatering systems seems to be reasonable due to increase of energy prices, considering the high amounts of energy consumed in mine dewatering systems.
Cause and effect analysis for industrial plants impact on the acoustic climate in urban areas
PIERCHAŁA M.
Summary
Economical development and constant increase of production rate in many developing countries, including Poland is a reason of noise hazard to inhabitants. Health injuries and functional effects cause by over-standard noise emission concern a great part of population and what is worse they are exposed to the hazard not only at the place of work, but also in dwelling and resting places. That fact obliges us to begin studies on wider scale on possibilities of reduction that disadvantageous noise emission by identification of most significant sources and an attempt to reduce noise emission. The paper is a trial to present the scale of problems only for three types of sources, which are connected with each other as well as to give the methods for reduction of noise emission together with short characteristics of most important problems. A necessity to investigate and minimize the hazardous impact of noise results from the present legal and formal requirements has been stressed in the paper. Also the paper sets directions of further studies on determination the acoustic field and describes suggested methods and solutions.
New designs of single valve blocks
CYMERYS A., WŁADZIELCZYK K.
Summary
Designs of new series of single valve blocks designed to operate in hydraulic systems of the powered roof supports were presented. The series meet all requirements of PN-EN 1804-3:2006(U) Standards. Apart of design description, technical characteristic was given. Also all design changes in new valve blocks compared with the present blocks were listed
Grounds for functioning and control of operation of rotary-percussive drills
MARIANOWSKI M.
Summary
The essence of rotary-percussive drilling operation was presented as well as basic parameters determining optimal drilling speed and their relationships i.e. pressing force in function of impact mechanism operation, number of strokes connected with rotational speed, torque of mechanism in function of pressing force as well as relationship between advance speed and effects of impact mechanism operation. Control system of drilling jumbo supplied by pumps of changeable output was described.
Impact of bed loosening on a position of separating layer in pulsating jig
KOWOL D., LENARTOWICZ M., ŁAGÓDKA M.
Summary
Laboratory results of studying the bed loosening on a position of separating layer in a measuring zone of pulsating jig, were presented in the paper. Carried out tests have shown that there is a relationship between a speed of water pulsating flow and quantitative and qualitative parameters of the products from jig processing, as the result of changes, among others, porosity of layers. It was found that with a reduction of grains density in consecutive bed layers a difference between layer density and density of grains, contained in it, increases leading to a creation of two concentrated zones in extreme position and a transition zone of lower grains concentration separating them. Besides, the tests shown that grains loosening in jig’s bed in a result of pulsating flow of water during separation influences the range of separation density of the processed material.
Testing the stability of powered roof supports
WINKLER T., TOKARCZYK J.
Summary
Degree of longitudinal and transverse inclination is a significant problem during use of powered roof support. Maintaining stability of used supports during longwall mining operation is the main safety rule, when considering the increase of weight of present powered roof supports.
Intensity of mine developments during technical restructuring of mine
TUREK M.
Summary
Simplification of the mine structure by, among others, reduction of total length of roadways is one of the most important actions in restructuring of mine. Also it is important to shorten a time of roadways operation, what can be done by a proper selection of exploitation systems and by increase of advance of roadway faces. So, mining operation should by organized according the rule of keeping the least number of roadways with their possible lowest total length and time of driving. It means that we have to minimize the labour intensity and driving costs.
Securing the safe operation of electric mining equipment
FIGIEL A.
Summary
Electric equipment designed to transfer, separate and process electric power are commonly used in underground workings of mining plants. Adaptation of its design to hazards and local conditions, which are at the place of its installation, is a condition of its safe operation. Selected and specific design requirements, which should be considered during designing, manufacturing, assessment and installation as well as problems with their application, were pointed out.
Integrated management system in laboratories at the KOMAG Centre and new areas of accreditation tests
MADEJCZYK W., ORZECH Ł., ZAJĄC R.
Summary
System solutions as regards implementation of quality system, which integrates requirements of the following two standards on the quality management systems: PN-EN ISO 9001:2001 and PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005, at the KOMAG Centre as well as benefits resulting from their integration were presented in the paper. Versatility of PN-EN ISO 9001:2001 standard, which causes that it can also be used for such services as testing, was pointed out. New accredited research areas of KOMAG’s laboratories associated with expansion of research basis and broadening of competences as regards testing, were also discussed in the paper.
