Comparison of methods for powered roof supports testing according to European, American and Russian standards

MADEJCZYK W.
Methodologies of testing powered roof supports according to the European requirements (PN-EN 1804-1 Standard), American requirements (CONSOL programme) and Russian requirements (GOST R 52152-2003 Standard) were characterized and compared in the paper, referring mainly to load tests. Basic criteria for assessment of test results were presented.

Designing of gear modules of internal meshing according to the requirements of ISO standards

CZADER W., PIECZORA E., DREWNIAK J.
Methodology and computer aided initial designing and verification designing of planetary gears, accoring to the recommendations included in the latest literature and PN ISO 6336‑1,2,3:2000 international standard, were presented in the paper. Package of software, developed in the Division of Mechanization Systems at the KOMAG Mining Mechanization Centre, consists of the following stages: initial designing, selection of geometrical features in a form of geometrical calculations of toothing and gears, and verification according to PN ISO 6336-1,2,3:2000. Having such package of engineering software, a designer has a possibility to select optimal pair of cylindrical wheels, both of internal external toothing, considering extreme loading and used materials. This package supports a selection of geometrical features of, among others, planetary gears used in mechanical equipment, including also mining equipment.

Results of cavitation in machines with a hydrostatic drive

KOLLEK W., KUDŹMA Z., OSIŃSKI P., PALCZAK E., STOSIAK M.
Problems of cavitation in typical hydraulic components commonly used in mining machines of the rock and mining industry were discussed in the paper. Cavitation reasons and its effects were given. On the basis of own investigation and literature studies a visualization of cavitation phenomenon was presented. Examples of cavitation were given. Identification of accompsnying acoustic effect was made and tools for acoustic identification of cavitation in industrial conditions were suggested. An acoustic signal was indicated as the criterion for starting the cavitation process.

Use of artificial intelligence to control road header cutter jib movements

ROGALA J.
Attention for complicity of roadways drivage was paid in the paper. A concept of roadheader control system and especially automation of cutter jib movement was presented. Also a possibility of use of artificial intelligence to optimize movement trajectory of roadheader cutter jib (as regards energy consumption), was given.

Analysis of dynamic loads of flight-bar conveyors on the basis of tests carried out in operational conditions

SUCHOŃ J., DRWIĘGA A., GĄSIOR S.
Analysis of impact of interaction between chain drum and chain on dynamic loads in flight-bar conveyor made of the basis of tests of conveyors in operational conditions were given in the paper. Distinction of dynamic loads resulting from self-activated and from forced vibrations was made. Problems associated with different conditions for cooperation between the drum and chain were discussed before the analytical part.

Development of flight bar designs and prospects of further research and development work

KALUKIEWICZ A., WITWICKI S.
Development of design of flight bars was described in the paper. Changes that happened within last ten or so years were shortly presented. Predicted further directions of work on improvement of design are the result of discussion.

Identification of technical-and-operational parameters of belt conveyors using mobile measuring system

KULINOWSKI P.
Possibilities of mobile, non-invasive measuring system, which together with specialistic software makes the system for identification of operational parameters of belt conveyors, were presented in the paper. Assessment of operational parameters of driving-and-tensioning systems of belt conveyors, identification of technical-and-operational parameters of subassemblies as well as verification of calculation algorithms are the tasks of that mobile system developed in the Department of Mining, Dressing and Transport Machines at AGH University of Technology and tested in industrial conditions in “Rudna” Mining Plant.

MWW-1 small-size drilling jumbo

PROSTAŃSKI D., KALITA M.
Solution of MWW-1 small-size drilling jumbo developed in the KOMAG Centre within the targeted project co-financed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education were presented in the paper. Its design and basic technical parameters of the machine were given. The drilling jumbo is designed for mechanization of process of drilling blasting holes needed during roadway drivage by blasting techno- logy. Special Production Plant of “Bumar-Łabędy” JSC in Gliwice, Poland is planned to be the machine manufacturer.

GMC-1000 cooling device for underground mine air condition system

KALUKIEWICZ A., GOSPODARCZYK P., WOJCIECHOWSKI J., BIELAK D., GREGOREK K., KRUCZEK S., LEBDA-WYBORNY Z., WERESZCZYŃSKI L., WÓJCIK A.
Assumptions, calculations and design solutions of the device of cooling power 1MW, developed and manufactured by EUROTECH Ltd. in Bytom, Poland with collaboration of AGH University in Krakow, Poland, was presented in the paper. The machine was developed within the Targeted Project supported by the Ministry of Science. The device enables to secure air conditioning, depending on local conditions, of even entire mining plant. Also selected results of simulation tests of cooling pack were presented.

Review of available technologies for taking measurement and control of parameters of separation of suspensions process in minerals processing

LENARTOWICZ M., KOWAL D., ŁAGÓDKA M.
Review of used methods for taking measurements of technological parameters of separation process which were applied in automation of operation of free-sedimentation classifiers, which operate at levering water stream as well as types of sensors were presented.
