Strength analysis of operation of frictional joint of mining support frame

BRODNY J., ŻOŁNIERZ J.

The article presents an analysis of the strength of frictional joints of roadway support frames loaded with longitudinal force. Connector consisting of two straight sections of profile V29 combined two clamps such as SDO with PN-91/G-15000/11 was analyzed. Calculations were made using the Finite Element Method. Impact of the size of the load on the friction characteristics of the working connectors and in particular on the state of stress in the clamps. The obtained results allowed to determine the sites of the highest stress of clamps. The model provides greater opportunities for numerical simulation of both the variability of load and structural changes in the analyzed joints.

Monitoring system of loads of construction of large surfaces

BARTOSZEK S., JAGODA J., ROGALA J., STANKIEWICZ K., WOSZCZYŃSKI M.

The monitoring system of construction elements of buildings was presented in the paper. Main goal of the system was early identification of collapse danger, analyzing, visualization and archivization of measuring data, as well as signalling of exceeding the predicted load limits. At present results of development work and practical application are maximally close to evaluated permissible limits of load (included in standards) due to continuous process of minimizing costs of building. This is the right way to save the money but it crates danger for building stability by lowering its resistance on random, unpredictable events (especially in the case of weather perturbations). Proposed system increases operational safety of building, lowers costs of snow removal and allows to make much more precisely decisions in the case of evacuation or maintenance.

Small-size MWW-1 drilling jumbo – first results of field tests

PROSTAŃSKI D., KALITA M., RAWICKI N.
Design, principle of operation and technical characteristic of MWW-1 drilling jumbo, which was developed within a targeted project No. 6 ZR8 2006C/06772 realized by KOMAG and ZPS Bumar Łabędy, Ltd, were presented in the paper. Innovativeness of technical solutions, which were used in a drilling jumbo, and results of using a drilling jumbo in a process of roadway drivage were discussed. Realization and first results of field tests of drilling jumbo used by the BZUG Company in “Halemba” Colliery were described.

Impact of gravel feed grain size on effectiveness of separation of pollutants in the process of jig beneficiation of aggregate

ŁAGÓDKA M., KOWOL D.

Comparative tests of impact of increasing the size range of gravel feed from 16-2 mm to 32‑2 mm on effectiveness of separation of pollutants of density < 1,8 g/cm3 were conducted. The tests were realized at the test rig of laboratory jig. An analysis of tests results showed that increase of feed size had an impact on decrease of separation effectiveness at constant process parameters. Increase of stream of bottom water, which causes material loosening, had a positive impact on effectiveness of stratification of feed of higher grain size and effectiveness of separation of over-size pollutants.

Assesment of effectiveness of stream produced in two-medium nozzle in the aspect of limiting the methane ignition hazard and coal dust explosion hazard

PIECZORA E., PROSTAŃSKI D., BAŁAGA D., ROJEK P.

A solution of two-medium spraying nozzles designed for air-and-water spraying was presented in the paper. Saving of water used by air-and-water nozzles in relation to water nozzles was presented. Results of tests of spraying nozzles with air suction and two-medium air-and water nozzles were presented and discussed.

Standardization activity in safety of mining machines and equipment – needs and expectations – results of work of Technical Committee No. 285

ZAJĄC R.

Directives and harmonized standards are the main legal tool of harmonization of technical requirements in the European Union. Often in the case when there are no European standards, fundamental require- ments for specified groups of products are defined at the level of Polish standards. The paper aims to make the reader familiar with the rules of financing of Polish standardization and presents work effects of Tech- nical Committee No. 285 for Mining Underground Machines and Equipment.

80-Year Anniversary of Professor Tadeusz Zmysłowski

The paper is focused on the 80-year anniversary of Professor Tadeusz Zmysłowski, who was many-year KOMAG’s employee.

STAŃCZAK L.

A report from the International Fair of Mining, Power Industry and Metallurgy “KATOWICE 2009”, which was held from 1st to 4th September 2009 in Katowice, was presented in the paper.
