S u m m a r y
The paper presents problems of coal exploatation in the ‘Bogdanka’ Colliery resulting from specificity of mining-and-geological and technical-and-organizational conditions. Concentration of longwall mining is the main way to reduce the unit costs of coal mining in  the ‘Bogdanka’ Colliery. Successive increase of face advances and of daily output from one face, as well as increase of efficiency take place since early 1990s.
