Projects realized by the KOMAG Institute from European Funds

The Laboratory of Tests carries out testing of hydraulic actuating components of powered roof supports for conformity with the safety requirements acc. to items 5.1 ÷ 5.11 of the PN-EN 1804-2+A1:2010 Standard.

The scope of testing includes as follows:

  • testing the extension limiter acc. to item A.1.2.1 of the Standard,
  • yield tests acc. to items A.1.2.2 and A.1.3.3 of the Standard,
  • static overload test acc. to item A.1.2.3.1 of the Standard,
  • dynamic overload tests acc. to item A.1.2.3.2 of the Standard,
  • leak-proof test acc. to item A.1.2.4 of the Standard,
  • bend test acc. to item A.1.3.2 of the Standard,
  • life tests acc. to item A.1.4 of the Standard,
  • functionality test acc. to item A.1.4.5 of the Standard,
  • testing the transportation catches acc. to item A.1.5 of the Standard.

 

The Laboratory of Tests conducts the tests of powered roof supports for conformity with the safety requirements acc. to items 5.1 ÷ 5.3.7 of PN-EN 1804-1+A1:2011 Standard.

 

The scope of fatigue tests of powered roof support includes as follows:

  • tests of static strength of powered  roof support components acc. to item A.1.2 of the Standard,
  • tests of fatigue strength of powered roof support components acc. to item A.1.3 of the Standard,
  • tests of strength of front canopies of powered roof support acc. to item A.5 of the Standard,
  • tests of static strength of transportation catches acc. to item A.4 of the Standard,
  • tests of powered roof support yield acc. to item A.1.2.4 of the Standard,
  • tests of static strength of fixation of legs and cylinders of powered roof support acc. to items A.1.1 and A.1.2.3 of the Standard,
  • tests of static strength of additional equipment of powered roof support acc. to items A.1.1, A.1.2.1 and  A.1.2.2 of the Standard.

The scope of functional tests of powered roof support includes determination of linear dimensions, angles and angles of loosing the stability realized within the following:
  • verification of conformity of basic dimensions with technical documentation,
  • verification of easiness of assembly and disassembly,
  • verification of width and height of passage for personnel,
  • verification of functionality and controllability of powered roof support,
  • verification of stability of free-standing powered roof support,
  • verification of cooperation of roof supports on inclinations.

In the range of accreditation No. AB 910 KOMAG Laboratory of Material Engineering and Environment offers toy safety tests for conformity with the requirements of the standards harmonized with Directive No. 2009/48/EC (TSD) and the following standards:

  • PN-EN 71-1 Safety of toys. Part 1. Mechanical and physical properties.
  • PN-EN 71-2 Safety of toys. Part 2. Flammability.
  • PN-EN 71-3 Safety of toys. Part 3. Migration of certain elements.
  • PN-EN 71-8 Safety of toys. Part 8. Activity toys for domestic use.
  • PN-EN 62115 Electric toys. Safety of use.

Range of tests given above also covers determination of hazardous substances in the products and articles for children, according to requirements of Regulation by European Parliament and Council No. 1907/2006 regarding registration, evaluation, permits granting and limits applied in the scope of chemicals (REACH) as well as the following Standards:

  • PN-EN 71-9 Safety of toys. Part 9. Organic chemical compounds. Requirements.
  • PN-EN 71-10 Safety of toys. Part 10. Organic chemical compounds. Sample preparation and extraction.
  • PN-EN 71-11 Safety of toys. Part 11. Organic chemical compounds. Methods of analysis.

Safety of toys tests offer is dedicated to manufacturers, importers and distributors intending to place new toys on the market.

Children’s articles which are about to be placed in the European market should be tested for conformity with safety requirements described in standards harmonized with the General Product Safety Directive No. 2001/95/EC.

Competence of laboratory specialists in the scope of testing children’s articles is confirmed by positive results of interlaboratory comparisons, performed regularly since 2011 in cooperation with accredited foreign laboratories.

The Division realizes the following projects in the range of underground engineering and geo-engineering:

  • statistical calculations, determination of load capacity and designing of supports for mine workings,
  • expert opinions on shaft supports,
  • determination of support stabilization coefficient for sprags,
  • determination of method for protecting workings and underground structures,
  • projects of liquidation of shafts and other workings,
  • designs of water dams,
  • analyses of geotechnical constructions stability,
  • designing of tunnel workings.

KOMAG is authorized by the State Mining Authority to perform tasks of experts for mining plant operation (No. 134/2008) in the scope of selecting bolts, shaft supports and supports of workings of the cross-section exceeding 30 m2.
